Our U10 hurlers travelled to Knockaderry on Monday evening for a challenge game. We were expecting a stiff test and weren't disappointed . Knockaderry got out of the blocks very fast and had registered two goals in the first three minutes. Our lads were slow to get to grips with the pace of the game and were on the back foot for most of the first half. Half time was a welcome break where we trailed 2-5 to 0-0. Croagh/Kilfinny's heads were down and some soul searching was had at half time. After a few positional changes and a quick chat the lads went back out promising to leave eveything on the field. An early point for Croagh/Kilfinny from a free settled things down. Our lads really got into the game and treated us to an outstanding second half performance with some very fine individual displays. We were unlucky not to get a couple of goals late on and Croagh /Kilfinny ended the game the stronger side. We came up short in the end on a score line of 3-6 to 2-7 but dont let the scoreline take from what was a thrilling second half performance. We were very proud of the lads and thanks to all the parents who came along to support.
Our team on the night was Shay Looney, James Callanan, Mossie Culhane, Owen Lynch, Finbar Lenihan, Jack Browne, Jude O' Connor, Donnacha McCarthy, John Looby, Ronan O Carroll, Paul Sweeney & Pat Frawley.
