The AGM of Croagh/Kilfinny GAA club for 2020 was held on Sunday 3rd January 2021 at 12 noon. Due to COVID-19 restrictions the AGM was conducted virtually via a Zoom meeting.

Father Boyce opened the meeting with a prayer in support of those affected by the ongoing pandemic. Minutes of the previous AGM were then proposed and seconded.

Secretary David Lynch gave a detailed report of the club’s activities for the year and thanked all involved in the club during 2020. David announced that he was stepping down from the role after three years and stated that the future of the club was looking bright.

Treasurer Niall Frawley gave a comprehensive account of the club’s Income and Expenditure for 2020. Following a difficult year, sponsorship income, field rent and sports complex rent were down substantially, however this was offset by the running of the Split the Pot Draw and increased players membership, for which Niall is to be commended.

Chairman Conor Madigan thanked all involved in the club during a difficult ‘stop/start’ 2020 season. He particularly thanked David Lynch and Niall Frawley for their tremendous work. He stated that the standard of hurling was excellent throughout the club and praised the commitment of players and management teams. Peter Richardson and CE Scheme worker Benjamin Kelly were thanked for their great work throughout the year. He thanked all for their continued financial support of the club and particularly club sponsor Brendan O Connor of Foynes Engineering for his generosity. He stated that 2021 was likely to be another year of uncertainty, wished the best of luck to our Junior A’s and U14’s in the completion of their 2020 championships and urged more people to get involved. He concluded by urging all to keep up the great work that is ongoing in the club and offered sympathy to all who suffered bereavements during the year.
